In 1989, Su Zhigang (“Mr Su”) opened a restaurant in Guangzhou, southern China. Five years later he added a hotel. New businesses followed bit by bit, but it’s been in the last two years that things have really exploded. A brand-new amusement park and award-winning waterpark have put Chimelong on the map as a fully-fledged entertainment resort and the largest of its kind in China. And there’s more to come. On August 28th 2008, all the employees of Chimelong Group gathered at Chimelong International Stadium to celebrate its 19th birthday. After 19 years of hard working, Chimelong Group now has 9 sub-companies. And during the ceremony, all 9 sub-companies has prepared their own shows to express their good wishes for the group. The General Manager of the group, Mr Chen and the Chairman of the group Mr Sue gave everyone their inspiring speeches. At the end of the ceremony, Mr Sue announced the lucky employee from Xiangjiang Safari Park who won the big prize—a car.

5 Pandas from Sichuan Wolong Sanctuary came to live in Guangzhou Xiangjiang Safari Park

After the 5.12 earthquake in Sichuan Province, Wolong Sanctuary suffered major damage. Fortunately，most of the pandas there are in good heath. But because of the damage of the sanctuary, quite a few pandas there had to be moved to some other places before they can repair the sanctuary. Because of the great reputation, Guangzhou Xiangjiang Safari Park was chosen to accommodate 5 pandas from Sichuan. With these 5 pandas from Sichuan, Xiangjiang Safari Park has 10 pandas in total.
